UIA Hotline

 The Unity in Action Hotline is a compassionate, community-based alternative to emergency services for addressing non-emergency situations involving homelessness. Operated by Unity in Action by TCM, this program prioritizes de-escalation, dignity, and direct support, aiming to reduce unnecessary law enforcement involvement and provide meaningful assistance to individuals in need. 

This service allows community members to report concerns or observations related to unhoused individuals, including situations such as:

• Suspected abuse or domestic violence
• Safety concerns involving children or pets
• Mental health struggles, intoxication, or erratic behavior
• Hazardous materials, excessive trash, or fire risks
• Medical concerns or inadequate shelter
• Public disturbances or tense interactions
• Homeless individuals in vulnerable or disruptive locations

By calling the Unity in Action Hotline, residents initiate a response rooted in empathy, safety, and action. Our trained outreach teams assess the situation, connect with the individuals involved, and provide:

✅ Food, water, clothing, and hygiene resources 

✅ Medical and mental health referrals 

✅ Crisis de-escalation and mediation 

✅ Transportation or relocation assistance

✅ Connection to shelter, services, and long-term support 

✅Trash clean up 

✅ Police intervention if needed

Do NOT misuse this hotline. This hotline is for when displaced individuals are in need of help or are creating a nuisance. This hotline is NOT for when individuals are just existing in your space and you don't like it. Please be kind, compassionate and empathetic with the intention to use this hotline for care.
